SECURING FUTURE

We talk, we talk and we keep on talking about welfare of children and like they are the future of our nation, they are the future leaders etc., while we talking about all such things there comes a news that a child being kidnapped for ransom or something else. But the situation with the girls is even worse they are given in wrong hands leading to trafficking and sometimes also sent to ort countries. So are we talking about this FUTURE?

          You can come across at least one such incident while going through the newspaper. What we do? Read and don’t even find it necessary to give a second thought to it. Thinking about its solution is a far deal. But why is that so? Is it because our society is dual-faced? Yes!, certainly. Because we never react to such incidents unless it is given a “larger than life” image. As the sensation increases the inner voice of ours increases. What is that inner voice- 1.Humanity, 2.Ego, 3. So called CONCERN. This is a question that arises and must arise also. A recent incident where a nine year old was brutally raped leaving her with a damaged intestine. The father of this girl who is daily wage labour cannot afford a cycle takes her daughter to the hospital by walk which is around 4 km away. It continued for two months. Nobody bothered until this was published in a newspaper. Post which the High Court suomoto intervened and ordered a compensation of 1 lakh, which is appreciable. As soon the order came our citizens woke up and very soon the account of the father was filled with approximately 10 lakhs. Though the family got a huge support and it really helped them, but it leads to 2 very basic questions:-

1.     If something similar had happened in our nearby would we had similarly helped or waited for it to become a NEWS? or,

2.     Does a Human really require a sensation to wake up the Human/Humanity within ourselves?

  Whether it a girl or a boy, the parents of both are always worried about their child when they are out of their sight. Because ultimately they are not safe. So basically where are they safe? Relatives- No (One can recall the Franschla Case), Schools- No (Never forget that so many cases). If they are not safe in those two place, how are they going to be safe in Public?

          Will we always need Nehru ji or Dr.Kalam as examples of people who loved children. They have done their part now it is our turn talk about it openly and do something more effective. Don’t wait for someone come forward and take initiative. Many don’t reacts they think it is ‘others’ matter and for those others we are also ‘others’. At the end of the day it happens with ‘US’ and we have to stand together without any need of SENSATIONS.
