IT’S NOT TOO LATE

As the saying goes “There is a right time for everything” then why not marriage? Why to get those buds married even before they blossom. In spite of having law it still persists in many villages and even in cities. Then what’s the use of having such laws? Wait. We can feel proud that we don’t find any Childs profile on such Matrimonial websites and advertisements, may be for this the credit goes to law.

On a serious note even not too back just a decade ago the age which the children got married used to be 9-10 years. Now it has increased to 13-14 years. Can we say it is because of the Economical changes and other changes in Society and because of Education and Awareness even Exposure. You can agree because if it was because of law then it would have stopped, but unfortunately it is not so. Basically those who follow such practices are all aware that it is a crime and it is law breaking and etc., but as they are not afraid of anyone so neither anybody complains nor anybody takes action.

When we were kids we used to play with dolls getting them married and all. But there are people who actually get married those dolls at tender ages when they should be playing, studying, enjoying, where they don’t even know the meaning of marriage.

Let me not discuss who is responsible because it is understood. Everybody knows the side effects of child marriage. They say that marrying their daughter early makes her safe but why don’t they understand that by marrying her they put her in more difficult situation. Because she not even physically or mentally or emotionally prepared for it. The time she becomes mature enough to understand things she is already a mother of 4-5 year old. Then we talk about diseases to new borne, neo natal etc. If you want to achieve something on the top then start working from the root cause (Child Marriage).

The future of both the children leads to a question mark. I can’t plot an example of Gandhi Ji, though he also got married at an early age. Even when ‘Balika Vadhu’ started people showed concern towards the issue now that has also become a part of Entertainment. I am really worried if this continues in the same way then we are nowhere leading towards education, development, equality, disease free, etc.
